How can we help?

KindBell keeps every subscription in one place and reminds you before each charge. Most questions are answered below — if yours isn't, write to us and a person will reply.

We usually reply within two working days. Telling us your iOS version and the KindBell version from Settings → About gets you a faster answer.

Getting started

Tap + to add a subscription: its name, what it costs, how often it renews, and the date of the next charge. KindBell takes it from there — it tracks each renewal, totals what you spend, and reminds you before the money leaves.

Anything you're thinking of dropping can be marked to cancel. KindBell keeps those together and shows what you'd save by letting them go.

Common questions

My reminders aren't arriving

Three things to check, in order:

  1. Notification permission. Open iOS Settings → Notifications → KindBell and make sure Allow Notifications is on. KindBell schedules nothing at all while permission is off.
  2. Reminders are switched on in the app. KindBell → Settings → Reminders & notifications.
  3. The renewal date is in the future. A reminder set for three days before a date that has already passed has nowhere to land. Open the subscription and check its next renewal.

Reminders are scheduled on your device, so they arrive whether or not you have a connection — and no server ever needs to know when your charges are due.

Do my subscriptions sync between my devices?

Yes — through your own iCloud account, not through us. Sign in to the same Apple Account on both devices and make sure iCloud Drive is on, and your subscriptions appear on each of them. Changes usually land within a few seconds; a first sync after installing on a new device can take a little longer.

There is no KindBell account to create and no KindBell server holding your data. That is also why we cannot restore data for you — see the next question.

My subscriptions have vanished

Check that the device is signed in to the same Apple Account it was before, and that iCloud Drive is on. Data written under one Apple Account is not visible under another.

If KindBell's Settings screen shows the warning "Nothing is being saved", its storage on that device could not be opened — anything you add is lost when you close the app. Reinstalling KindBell usually fixes it, and anything already in iCloud comes back afterwards.

What's free, and what does KindBell Pro add?

KindBell is free for up to three subscriptions, with reminders included. Pro removes the limit and adds:

Pro is sold monthly, annually, or as a one-time lifetime purchase. The monthly and annual plans start with a free trial; the lifetime purchase is paid once and never renews. Prices are shown in your own currency on the Pro screen in the app.

I paid for Pro but it isn't unlocked

Open the Pro screen in the app and tap Restore purchases, making sure the device is signed in to the Apple Account that made the purchase. Purchases follow the Apple Account, not the device, so they restore on every device that account is signed in to.

Still stuck? Email us with the date of the purchase and we'll sort it out.

How do I cancel KindBell Pro?

Apple handles the billing, so the cancellation happens there: iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions → KindBell, or open apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions. Pro stays active until the end of the period you've already paid for.

Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription — it has to be cancelled in that list.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are Apple's to give, since Apple takes the payment. Request one at reportaproblem.apple.com with the Apple Account that made the purchase.

Does KindBell cancel my other subscriptions for me?

No. KindBell never touches your accounts with Netflix, Spotify or anyone else — it has no way to. What it does is link you straight to the page where that service is cancelled, and remember the decision you made, so you can see what you're on course to save.

Why doesn't my converted total match my bank?

When your subscriptions are in more than one currency, KindBell converts them so a total means something. It uses mid-market rates refreshed daily — the rate the currency markets quote, not the rate a bank charges after its own margin and fees. Treat a converted total as a good estimate rather than a quote.

Settings shows when the rates last updated. With no connection, KindBell falls back to rates built into the app.

Can I get my data out?

Yes, whenever you like: Settings → Export to CSV writes every subscription to a spreadsheet file you can send anywhere. Nothing is locked in.

How do I delete everything?

Settings → Delete all data removes every subscription from the device and from your iCloud, on all your devices. It cannot be undone, so export first if you might want the data later.

Deleting a KindBell Pro purchase is separate — see cancelling, above.

Which devices does KindBell run on?

iPhone, on a current version of iOS. Sync needs a device signed in to iCloud; everything else works offline.

Report a bug or ask for something

Bug reports and feature requests both go to the same place, and both are read. If you're reporting something that goes wrong, tell us what you did, what happened, and what you expected instead — that alone is usually enough to find it.
